Normally a visual check against the part removed is all that  is necessary. The need to carry out these checks is because of the on going upgrades and modifications which are carried out by the original tractor manufacturer. If the component is a gear or a shaft, then check the number of teeth or slpines. If a clutch assembly, check the dimensions and whether the clutch is a dual or split torque. These simple and quick checks may save many hours of frustration and expense.
